The group encounters a dwarf hanging upside down tied by his feet from a lonely tree in the valley of the hills. Vorwyn tries to shoot the rope to set him free but manages to instead hit the dwarf in the leg. This awakens the dark skinned dwarf and he immediately cuts himself down. The Dwarf tells the group his name is Gary and he has no idea where he is or why he is here.
The adventurers believe his story and gladly accept him into the group.
Not too long after it is apparent that the orcs they originally were avoiding are still hot on their trail. They find a small alcove high in the hills to hide from the orcs. The orcs amass to what looks like several hundred. Gary sneaks into the orc encampment and finds that they are planning to raid and pillage a town to the south called “Berens”. Fyorn insists that they should forewarn the town about the upcoming invasion, but knows that they couldn’t make it there in time. He writes a letter and sends Talador's dog team to deliver it. The group moves further South. On day 11 they encounter a lonely inn at the base of the hills. Smoke rises from the chimney but there does not seem to be any activity outside nor any livestock movement at or around the barn. The group cautiously approaches.
The adventures tried really hard to accept the dark dwarf into the group, but the halfling chick with the rock strapped to her chest just couldn't stop being racist.
ReplyDeletePanarus Ensala: My first thought was that this Dwarf must be a wanted criminal. But what criminal gets hung upside down in the middle of nowhere with all of his equipment and weapons intact? Something doesn't add up. Either way, I gave him my most prized model "4x" prototype touring flute. This little gem has 5 octaves of range and is made from some of the toughest wood I could find. I can't wait until we reach the mountains so I can get my hands on some of this rare "Wyrmwood" we are searching for. I hope it will make a nice sounding instrument.
