The group discusses whether or not to invite the Necromancer along with them. A vote is taken and it is decided that he should not journey with them. Gericks was scrying on their conversation and confronts the group about their decision. He says that he is not offended but that he will be travelling the same direction as the group as he wants to find this "treasure" as well. So he is sure he will see the group again.
Meanwhile Vornyn visits the church of Darkenday. The priests gather around him and start chanting and casting spells. They expel the creature that has been possessing him for some time. He is finally free of the creature from the sarcophagi. Clyde commissions his own special cart to be constructed as his travelling workshop.
Elga is given the scrolls to read that will awaken the powers of the treasure map. it reveals two clues and a location South West from Evonmar. The group sets out to investigate. Not too long into their journey they come upon a large chasm in the road preventing the horses and carriage from passing. Just then Gericks and his undead show up. The skeletons form a bridge for the group to cross safely. He wishes them well and continues into the forest.
The group then encounters 4 wyvern riders who land near the group. They are dark elves (drow) and warn them that they about to enter into their sacred territory. The group makes a deal with the drow that they help defeat a creature of light that is preventing the drow access to their sacred lands. Once defeated, the group can move freely through their kingdom. The group agrees to help only to find out that the creature is some type of an unknown species of Dragon. Some type of light/ sun dragon......
I think the last vote may have tarnished the party's trust in one another over a stranger. We have shed blood and tended wounds for months together, weeks for some, and over a year for Vorwyn and Murphy. All this strife over a wagon wheel and a stranger. We could have coped without him but I accepted his help as I would any helping hand. But Murphy and I just can't assist and ascend the might of the undead. Nature and the supernatural have their boundaries. Life and death, fire and water, can't coexist, but ware separate states that will destroy the other. I would always welcome a drink with Gerick. Maybe if he did away with his walking dead, I would tolerate his presence as a party member, but I can't forsake my oath to Nature anymore than he can forsake his loyalty and love of the undead. Knowing that Gerick has spied and scried on us worries me that he has his own agenda. I was upfront and spoke to him eye to eye and he was at least honest about spying on us. But why doesn't he trust us enough not to spy on us?
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I can stay with this group if they don't honor the vote. We do this to ensure honesty about our differences and no 1 direction rules our travels. So, I sent my family a note and a gem worth 1000 gp by means of a druid from Darkendae. I may be breeding horses before long back in Hilltown sooner than expected and may have to discuss my departure and retirement if this new group has their own way of not honoring the vote of the party.
