Heading towards Evonmar the group hits a bumpy part in the road and winds up busting not one, but two carriage wheels. Sprock is upset and complaining about how the weight distribution wasn't right. Then a few zombies and skeletons walk towards the group (non threatening). The skeleton opens its mouth and a human voice asks if they could use some help. A necromancer arrives shortly after on a chariot carried by other undead (40 in total). He greets them as a friend and offers to help them get to Evonmar swiftly with the help of his minions. The group agrees and heads the 4 days left to Evonmar with the aid of the Necromancer (Gerecks Blackfoot) and his crew. The Witch Elga seems to be quite interested in the Mage, and they spend much of the journey in his tent and chariot... Estia her daughter is confused and disturbed and leans on Delvin for some moral/ fatherly support, he plays cards with her. (anything to drown out the sounds of her mother moaning in the darkness...)
They arrive in Evonmar. Sura sees a post for her on a local street billboard.
Delvin takes the broken cart to a black smith (Therumen) for repairs. He sells all of the treasure accumulated throughout the past journey's and commissions a second cart to be built.
Jin meets a mysterious man on the streets and actually helps him locate the farmers son Timmy he was looking for. Timmy is excited to see the group but more excited at the opportunity to go and see his father. Gerecks offers the services of his friend, a local wizard who could teleport him to his dad.
Through a scrying spell we find that the Timmy's father (the Farmer) is locked up in jail in DiamondBed city (he apparently went a little crazy when he arrived at not finding his son there). Timmy convinces the group that he should go and help his dad. He is sure he can convince the guards to free him. Timmy is teleported into his fathers cell. The group watches in horror as his father viciously tears his son to pieces with his bare hands. Blood soaks the crystal ball.....
Dearest den mother, I am ashamed of my lack of communication with you. I would expect you feared the worst, but I remembered what you once told me. To die without a legacy is to shame your upbringing. As you know I will not disappoint! I am working to secure what I have sought yet the male stock is limited in these lands. I have had two potential encounters that would produce a worthy offspring. I look to the day that I find myself late in bleeding. The gift givers were of a fine stature and of great discipline. Two brothers in fact who serve a foreign god I know little about, but this is of little consequence. I recently have been informed they have provided lands for my birthing if I find myself with child. Their only ask was if a name was born that I submit to their religious order. I must say as tradition would dictate to do so is unorthodox but I am seeing worth in my male companions and perhaps he may have impact on the world if allowed to live. I will think on this and whisper to the morning sun for guidance.

Dearest Sura,
ReplyDeleteIf the child turns out to be Male then gift it to whomever will care for it and move on. Or kill it as it would just weigh you down on your journey. It is of no use to us. If the child is of proper female birth and not weak and sickly, then return home at once so she can begin her training and then set out again for another mate so we can maintain our numbers.

P.S. - your dog was eaten by tiger last month. I killed the beast and made you a warm blanket for your travels. See you soon I hope.
Den Mother, it is my hope that she died well. She was a good companion but the jungle needs nourishment and takes as she sees fit.
ReplyDeleteIf I am blessed with a girl I will surely return her to our tribe. “For the strength of the Pride is the Lion, and the strength of the Lion is the Pride”
