battle session 3
The group travels to the city of doors known as "Sigil". Not long after walking the streets, people with similar tattoos like Thunk approach and guide them to the first portal. They travel through many different portals. With each portal another tattoo on Thunk disappears. Eventually they are greeted by an Angel (Thunk no longer has any tattoos left). Giving no names, he said he is here to help guide them to their final detitanation... the 643rd layer of Hell. It is there they will need to rescue their captured god Xeroxen.
Sprock gets the wall demolished and gets the cart on its way out of the tunnel. Scouting ahead, it appears the group is about to be ambushed by about 60 thieves. Sprock uses some of his explosives to rig the cave under the ambushers. After detonation, the group traps the survivors in the pits and burns them to a crisp.
Once out of the tunnel they are greeted by Drow Wyveryn riders who have come to expedite the groups arrival to Evenmar. Sprock stays behind to get the cart back safely and the rest of the groups flies fast back to town.
Once back in town, they speak with the high clerics. They determine that the group must travel to the depths of hell with the help of the "chosen one" (Thunk) and rescue the god Xeroxen who has been captured and being held hostage by demons.
The group licks their wounds after the worm battle and further investigates the rest of the cavern. They encounter 7 ferocious creatures known as "Grell". Their barbed tentacles inflict major damage to the party, but they eventually prevail.
The group makes their way into the tunnel. They find that it has been bricked up with only some smaller tunnels to explore. The group leaves Sprock and the Witch behind with the cart and head out to check out the rest of the cavern. They are attacked by some gigantic slug like creatures. The are roughly 2' in diameter by 25'-0" long!
After some horse trampling, soften earth spell, harpoons & flaming spheres, the group manages to kill the slugs. They find a few chests of treasure. The one chest is poisonous and almost kills Jin, luckily Delvin was able to save the day. They find an Iron necklace, a strange window shutter that has an inscription "keep", and a flying magic carpet.
Who get's the carpet?
When the group arrives at the river, they find that it is fully under construction (being replaced) and is not accessible. They have to use the old tunnel which runs underneath the river. In a side ditch, Delvin sees a strange (robotic) creature stuck in a ditch stuck in a foot or two of mud.
He advises the group to leave it alone and move forward. They get to the opening of the bridge and are about to enter when a huge creature emerges and attacks.
It is a brutal battle but they are able to kill it and move forward. Luckily it vaporizes upon death so they didn't have to move it out of the way to get the large cart and horses through.
The group is in a strange place they come to find. Time is still not the present it is 2 years after they wandered from the camp. Delvin decides to use his ring to go back in time to warn the group not to open the genie scroll. They take his warning and fill in the holes. Jin draws the symbol of Koanatee on the burial site and asks Koanatee to protect the area. As the group continued to travel south Jin becomes sicker and sicker the closer he gets to the destination. He figures out that its the box that is making him feel this way and passes it off to Clyde who then starts to shimmer like a demon. Jin gets the box back, Clyde stops shimmering and now Elga starts to shimmer. The demon is body hopping. But as bad luck seems to persist lately, this was the trapped demons plan all along and escapes the box. Elga tells Jin that the demon switched out the boxes when he escaped and the broken box he has is a fake.
The group finds an army of 500 demons eating babies in the forest. They await Delvins return. A decision needs to be made... either continue south to the destination and possibly be annihilated or return to the town and report back to the high cleric of Koanattee?
The group sets up camp in the forest. Later in the day a scream for help is heard in the distance. Jin, Thunk, Clyde, & Delvin leave the camp to go investigate. They come to an excavation site with two large holes. As they are investigating they can tell that the screams came from some humans which are all dead at the bottom of the hole. Then, a skeletal hand reaches up from the dirt and grabs at the their feet. Before long a skeleton covered in a strange green ooze emerges. As they fight this thing, the ooze splashes off and onto them with each hit. They eventually kill the the ooze. They realize that the skeleton was not undead after all and somehow animated by the ooze itself.
They investigate the holes. The one hole has a coffin in it that has been pried open and remnants of the ooze can be seen all around. Jin finds a secret compartment in the sidewall of the coffin. It contains a scroll case. Clyde deciphers the script and it reads "do not open, Genie inside"
Jin convinces Clyde that he has to open the case "we may get wishes" He can't resist... He opens and reads the scroll. The Genie within takes over Clyde and offers the group a way to save their friend Clyde or lose him forever as he would be possessed by the genie demon. They must find another host.
The group finds a farm not too far off. They use the farmer (dad) to get the Genie out of Clyde. The "Genie" show their true form and Jin attempts to capture him in the box the witch gave him but he takes off into the sky knocking the box out of Jin's hand (used to take demon's souls). The box looks broken. The "Genie" escapes.
Jin heads back and finds another Genie scroll at the dig site. The second genie needs a host as well. The farmers wife of course...The daughter comes running after the transformation and runs into Jin's arms and says " Where is my Mommy & Daddy?"
The good genie demon brings the group back in time a year to the exact moment they left. After yelling at Jin about releasing her husband the bad demon she takes off after him.
Jin speaks with the witch Elga. She tells Jin that he was been given the "bait and switch". The broken box he has indeed a fake. The Genie stole his box of demon soul collecting.
The group travels into the forest. That night during Clyde's watch, he hears a rustling in the brush and wakes Jin to say we might have a problem. Jin investigates and finds two orc scouts and an orc warrior coming dangerously close to the encampment. Clyde wakes Sura as well and they make quick work of the orcs. Jin sneaks out to see where the scouts came from. To his horror, he finds an encampment of an orc army 500 strong. He also witnesses that the orc leader seems to "shimmer" just like the high cleric did in Evonmar (most likely another demon).
They devise a plan to use a powerful illusion spell to hide the group & carts, and rig the bridge to blow up using Spork's new invention (gun powder/ explosives). The goal is to lure the army over the bridge and blow it.
They succeed.
Elga, the witch gives Jin a strange box. She says she created it after a vision she had. The wonderous object sucks the essence of the demon out of the orc leader. Apparently Jin will be doing this more often in the future (que the ghostbusters theme song...)
The group helps the townsfolk of Evonmar clean up the carcass of the dragon from the streets. After the last of the body has been removed and as much of the blood and guts mopped up, 4 men arrive in blue cloaks. They summon incredible water elementals that wash the town streets spotless.
All of the taverns in town are packed with the townsfolk and a great celebration is had by all. Jin Speaks to the High Cleric of Koanatee and finds out some troubling news. The high cleric of Xeroxen is suspected of being a demon in disguise. Jin is tasked with finding out for certain. If the rumor is true then he will need to dispose of him.
During the celebrations, Jin sees the High Cleric of Xeroxen sitting at the bar. As he observes him, he notices that every sip he takes from his mug, he spits it back in without swallowing it.... Very strange. Jin also notices that every now and then his image seems to "flicker" a little. Also very strange. A brief and awkward conversation is had and the the cleric leaves. Jin follows only to find the priest literally meld/ sink into the ground. Jin turns incorporeal and follows him. He witnesses some horrifying events. The priest pulls out a small jar and heads to the warehouse where the dracolitch created for Clyde is being held. The undead dragon disintegrates and the remains are whisked into the jar. Then Gerricks the necromancer is next. Jin watches as the necromancer suffers the same fate. The warehouse/ stable hand is also dead. His skin has been completely removed. After a short time Jin catches up to the cleric again who is now back in the tavern. This time, he is close to the stage right by where Panarus is preforming to a roaring crowd. Jin sees him covertly remove the jar again as he attempts to use it on the Bard. Thankfully the group is there to confront him and causes the cleric to disappear again. Jin heads back to the church of Koanatee and is asked to pray at the alter. He goes into a trance and speaks with the god of Koanatee.
The adventurers are tasked with heading into the cold marshes of the Deependark forest far to the south to investigate. There is some deeper and darker plan afoot other than the high cleric of Xeroxen.
The group makes some last minute purchases and gets the war cart ready for travel. The group bids farewell to the townsfolk. Vornyn tells the group that he wishes to stay behind and pray in the Church of Darkenday for awhile. He says he will catch up with them someday. The adventurers mount up and head South.
At first the adventurer's seemed pleasant enough. He had heard great stories from his father about their adventure. His father, the last time he was home, even painted portraits from memory of his companions.
All was going well until they started asking about the spider queen. He asked several times their intentions. It became clear to him that they were working with the other Drow trying to free his beloved.
After several defeats in battles against the adventurer's being aided by a necromancer with an undead army, he retreated back to his lair only to find his beloved had been sprung free. Lumen vowed vengeance on the adventurer's and questioned the fate of his father as well. He became enraged, scouring the the underdark for these thieves. He thought he found them. Once he was ready to attack, they all vanished. a hideous laughter was heard, but then nothing... After several days of searching with no hint of a trail, he came back to his lair for a nap.
The smell of them woke him from his slumber. By the time he was fully awake, he was already in the sky. But it was too late. The smell must have taken some time to permeate down the shaft. The adventurers were long gone. He drank a few potions, ate two horses he had in the pen, and flew like a bat out of hell towards the stench of his enemies.
He found his way straight into Evonmar. He scorched as many civilians as he could on his approach and roared at his enemies of their thievery. The battle was fierce, and he fought hard.
I am sure he is sitting with his father Drake now in the afterlife and Drake has forgiven him for his adolescent behavior.
91 winters ago, an egg was hatched in a cave several miles West of the town of Evonmar. The egg was laid by the great fairie dragon Drake. Being his only offspring, Drake spent many years teaching the young Lumen the ways of the world. How to hunt, how to cast, and how to wield his ever growing magic within.
At age 50, Drake left Lumen to his own studies to do some adventuring as he felt his wings had become weak with child upbringing staying here in the lair. So Drake left Lumen a series of books to read and tasks to be done in his absence. One morning, Lumen came to a page in his studies that brought great wonder and joy! The ability to transform his dragon body into that of a humanoid creature. He heard his father Drake speak of this ability. Drake said he tried it a few times and only once convinced a human woman to an evening of fornication. Feeling the need to experience such things, the young dragon of light tried out his fledgling powers. It worked! But to his surprise, his humanoid form was that of a Drow. A Drow, being a dark skinned Elf of the night, was so opposite his being he could hardly contain his anger.
After a year or so with playing around with the Drow form he could take, he decided to leave the lair and venture into the caverns above and below. There were many shafts, and he made maps throughout the years he travelled them. He even came across an undead Jester which they parlayed briefly with mutual respect.
One day, while adventuring into a new uncharted cavern, he came upon a teenaged beautiful Drow by the name of Diedra. They spent so much time together that Lumen almost forgot he was a dragon. Their love flourished, but Lumen never once revealed his true form to her. One day he went to see her and instead of her waiting for him stood a Drow Wyvren rider. He was brief and stated that Diedra was to become the new spider queen to rule the underworld and was no longer permitted to see him as she was to be married to the Drider king. In a fit of rage, he incinerated the Wyvern rider and ran home.
Drake was there to greet him. Telling him of all the great tales of the new friends he met. A cleric of Darkenday, a Ranger, a druid, a Bard, and a peculiar thief. Drake did not pay attention to Lumens adolescent troubles and immediately started work on paintings and sculptures of the new companions he made. Lumen felt rejected and abandoned.
Drake left a few months later saying his friends needed him. He never returned.
One morning Lumen decided to take flight and search for some fresh food. Horses sounded good today. He was hit by several spears and arrows from Drow Wyvern riders. He killed them all, only to realize they were a security force for a carriage below... Lumens spider queen...
He couldn't contain himself. He killed the remaining Drow soldiers and opened the door to the carriage. Diedra was cowering, scared from dragon fright. Lumen changed into his Drow form and she shrieked in terror. She would never forgive him for this ultimate betrayal.
Not being able to process all that happened, he snatched up Diedra and put her in a cell in the Drakes massive lair.
Along comes the adventuring party of "Drake's friends"..............
After the candy cane nightmare shaft, the next room is welcoming and calm. Except for a coffin lying in the center of the room. Jin opens it and there is not inside that reads
The next room turns out to be a vertical winding (candy cane) shaft. The inscription reads:
The group gets into the next area only to find themselves in a large circus tent. The tent is flinging wildly from some unknown wind. The cryptic passage at the entrance says...
The group moves further into the dungeon.
They come upon a strange striped slide and cotton candy, very much like a carnival.
They encounter a strange alter which seems to revoke all things Darkenday.
The wall tries to grab Clyde with ghostly hands.
They fall upon a quicksand like coin pile.
The lists goes on and on. Welcome to the distorted world of an undead jester....Much more to follow......
The adventurers make their way into the other rooms. The first one they enter, they find a few dead bug bears with their insides completely removed from the rectum (as if they were used in some type of sinister puppet show). The next room they open houses a jacked up ape with armored arms and a fierce battle ensues. They kill the creature and clear out the rest of the spaces which then reveals a secret door. Once they get through the door (poison needles in Jin), they find themselves in a chamber with four fountains. As they enter they see a strange children's ball bouncing and then disappear into a portal of sorts and some strange laughter.
Inscribed on the wall is a message
The group checks out the cavern. At the far end is a massive door. After a few attempts, Jin is finally able to pick the lock. The door opens and Jin remarks that this is nicest most sophisticated lock he has ever seen. He takes note that he should grab it on his way out of here. Beyond the door is a fireman's pole leading down into a dark deep pit. They slide down and find themselves in a cramped cavern. As they head down the corridor, Sura falls down a pit trap hidden in the hallway and is slightly wounded. They come to a pile of gold, silver, & platinum and a peculiar stacked pile of coins which seems to defy gravity.
The group finds their way to a the sacred circle mentioned on the map. They place the items (chopped meat) and drink the blood of the water breathing dragon. Not before long the Sun Dragon Lumen arrives. He is quite pissed at the group now after having his prized spider queen captive being freed. He launches a sun light breath weapon at the group which activates the portal. The group is transported into the caverns.
They see a rushing stream in the distance. as they enter, undead emerge from crevasses along the wall. Delvin identifies them as Huecuva, a powerful undead foe.
They manage to do some damage through spells, but their weapons prove rather useless. One of the Huecuva casts a bestow curse onto Vornyn and he immediately panics and jumps into the rushing stream. The group realizes they have met their match and follow suite and retreat from the combat.
They travel through some rough waters and then eventually some slides (Goonies style) and eventually find themselves on a ledge in back of a waterfall. They dry off and wander deeper into the cavern leaving the waterfall behind. The room opens up to a large chamber.
The group rests. While resting they see a strange book floating towards them. The book (obviously magical) is picked up and seems to "stick" to the individual. After figuring out how to remove the book and pass it to another, it then finds its way to Clyde.....
After resting the group heads further into the underdark. They arrive at a large cavern with two exits towards the rear. As they approach, a sinister abomination emerges from the far entrance. It has no head, but instead is a mangle of body parts. It attacks immediately.
After several tough rounds of battle they finally vanquish this grotesque creature. Upon its demise, it explodes into a a large pile of chopped meat. Delvin uses a tarp to gather the remains. The group rests again before venturing further into the cavern.
The group approaches the Light Dragon who introduces himself as Lumen Footcandle the Bright. At first things go very well. They determine that somehow he has tattoos of symbols and family crests of the group. This is no doubt one of Drake's offspring. Things head south quickly as he repeatedly brings up the question if the group is in fact working with the Drow. Eventually they come to learn that that he has the Drow Queen hostage and the group becomes a bit restless. He again asks if the group is working for the Drow. He becomes combative and unleashes this terrifyingly bright light breath weapon which all but kills everyone in the group. Luckily Vornyn is there to heal the weak. Just then, Gericks and his undead army arrive and scare off the Dragon.
They rescue the Drow queen and return her to the Drow Wyvern riders. Delvin is gifted a Wyvern and the group gets free passage of all of the underdark.
They find their starting point on the treasure map and head toward their goal.
They come face to face with some type of water breathing dragon and a great battle is at hand.
The group discusses whether or not to invite the Necromancer along with them. A vote is taken and it is decided that he should not journey with them. Gericks was scrying on their conversation and confronts the group about their decision. He says that he is not offended but that he will be travelling the same direction as the group as he wants to find this "treasure" as well. So he is sure he will see the group again.
Meanwhile Vornyn visits the church of Darkenday. The priests gather around him and start chanting and casting spells. They expel the creature that has been possessing him for some time. He is finally free of the creature from the sarcophagi. Clyde commissions his own special cart to be constructed as his travelling workshop.
Elga is given the scrolls to read that will awaken the powers of the treasure map. it reveals two clues and a location South West from Evonmar. The group sets out to investigate. Not too long into their journey they come upon a large chasm in the road preventing the horses and carriage from passing. Just then Gericks and his undead show up. The skeletons form a bridge for the group to cross safely. He wishes them well and continues into the forest.
The group then encounters 4 wyvern riders who land near the group. They are dark elves (drow) and warn them that they about to enter into their sacred territory. The group makes a deal with the drow that they help defeat a creature of light that is preventing the drow access to their sacred lands. Once defeated, the group can move freely through their kingdom. The group agrees to help only to find out that the creature is some type of an unknown species of Dragon. Some type of light/ sun dragon......
Heading towards Evonmar the group hits a bumpy part in the road and winds up busting not one, but two carriage wheels. Sprock is upset and complaining about how the weight distribution wasn't right. Then a few zombies and skeletons walk towards the group (non threatening). The skeleton opens its mouth and a human voice asks if they could use some help. A necromancer arrives shortly after on a chariot carried by other undead (40 in total). He greets them as a friend and offers to help them get to Evonmar swiftly with the help of his minions. The group agrees and heads the 4 days left to Evonmar with the aid of the Necromancer (Gerecks Blackfoot) and his crew. The Witch Elga seems to be quite interested in the Mage, and they spend much of the journey in his tent and chariot... Estia her daughter is confused and disturbed and leans on Delvin for some moral/ fatherly support, he plays cards with her. (anything to drown out the sounds of her mother moaning in the darkness...)
They arrive in Evonmar. Sura sees a post for her on a local street billboard.
Delvin takes the broken cart to a black smith (Therumen) for repairs. He sells all of the treasure accumulated throughout the past journey's and commissions a second cart to be built.
Jin meets a mysterious man on the streets and actually helps him locate the farmers son Timmy he was looking for. Timmy is excited to see the group but more excited at the opportunity to go and see his father. Gerecks offers the services of his friend, a local wizard who could teleport him to his dad.
Through a scrying spell we find that the Timmy's father (the Farmer) is locked up in jail in DiamondBed city (he apparently went a little crazy when he arrived at not finding his son there). Timmy convinces the group that he should go and help his dad. He is sure he can convince the guards to free him. Timmy is teleported into his fathers cell. The group watches in horror as his father viciously tears his son to pieces with his bare hands. Blood soaks the crystal ball.....
The group continues on their path south through the forest. They arrive on a horrific scene on the trail. There are two dead (naked) women lying in the road, apparently raped and beaten to death. In the distance they can see two dead human males hanging from a tree who appear to have been skinned alive. After some tracking and investigation, they determine the direction of the assailants. Murphy shifts into a bird and takes flight to do some reconnaissance. He soon finds a strange group of what looks likes 4 halfing/ bird like creatures (witches as we referred to them) talking in a strange language.
They have two even stranger looking snake like monsters on leashes.
Behind them are two sinister looking ominous humanoid beings with glowing eyes.
He reports back to the group and after some debate and a group vote, they decide to not engage the enemy and move on.
4 days later the group is ambushed by 12 human thieves. They all seem like seasoned thugs decked out with better equipment then the group. As the thieves engage, two entangle spells are cast, keeping both flanks at bay. Some horrible rolls by the DM make their way to the table and the group is able to squash the raiding party without taking a single point of damage. The spoils of war are great and the group piles up all of the equipment they found. They desperately need to get to a town or city and invest in a second cart because they cannot fit much more on this war cart. The group will need to spend some time to divide up all of the spoils of battle. On to Evonmar!
The group heads deeper into the forest. They find themselves on a desolate road where they witness several zombies snacking on something. Vornyn calls upon the powers of Darkenyear and turns them. They run in fear as the holy power surges through them. Not too far off, they find the zombies (four in total) just standing there in front of a small shack. When they investigate, they witness a large forest troll jump down a shaft inside. Vornyn turns the zombies again and the group sets fire to the shack and down the hole. Not long after a forest troll comes jumping out and attacks the group. He throws his spear high and wide, only to have it savaging return onto himself, killing him instantly. Just then another troll emerges and the battle is on. The group battles this beast for quite some time but they eventually kill the beast.
A fierce battle occurs after the cages all open and the Sailsnakes take flight. Luckily a large portion of them seem to be attacking each other. After most of the adventurers almost die in battle, they find themselves covered in venom (blinds you temporarily) and blood, but victorious. Jin keeps the sailsnake he picked up (still in its cage) and the group heads back towards the farmers house.
They are greeted once again by their Treant friend Westerlund. He explains he has some business in the forest to tend to and bids the group farewell for now, but was glad to finally catch up to them again after the "Diamond bed city Gary incident".
Just then the group sees what looks like 20 orcs on horseback riding fast towards the farmers house. It doesn't look like they are going to be able to get their before them using the war cart. Delvin and Sura race off on horseback to beat them to the farm. They warn the farmer and his son to get out and come with them as the orcs are surely about to arrive and slaughter them all. They agree and are about to leave when the boy is shot off the horse with a crossbow bolt. The farmer screams out in horror.
The forest suddenly comes alive as numerous treeants ambush and destroy all of the orcs and horses before making it to the clearing of the farmland. The group is stunned by the scene. Just then, they look around and the boy is gone. Somehow, something (maybe invisible) picked up the boy and rode off leaving tracks. The farmer says he must go find his son and asked the group for one of his horses. Delvin gives him one and he rides off.
The group investigates the chopped meat (whats left of the orcs). Vornyn casts a detect magic spell and a small belt pouch glows amongst the blood and guts. Jin investigates, but whatever was inside the pouch had some magic bestowed upon it that as soon as Jin reached into the bag, he immediately pulls it out and swallows it. Fearing the worst, the group heads back to the war cart to speak to the "witch" Elga. She concocts a potion which Jin drinks straight away. All of a sudden, he starts barfing up what looks like gold coins. 200 of them to be exact. Knowing something about gold, the dwarf "Thunk" picks up a piece and bites down. Finding that they are not gold at all. They are in fact a strange coin where the impression of person remains misty and hazy. Jin pulls out the coin he grabbed from the dead gnome in the cave and they are identical to the ones he just threw up. Except this one now has portrait of the farmers boy on it. He has a monocle in one eye. Jin explains that this symbol means that the group needs to find him and or protect him. The coin also seems to be a direction finder and nudges Jin to head south east, deep into the forest. This ironically will bring them close/ if not to the fabled town of Evonmar. The only place on the planet to have a cathedral to every single evil god. The group sets off. On the way Delvin helps Jin train his new pet sailsnake. Welcome to the group young "Fluffy"! May you sail above us and reign venom down upon our enemies. Oh and also, spit into this barrel of beer Vornyn is brewing. This beer will be out of sight!!!!
Keep on reaching for that rainbow....
That is all for now. More updates for you as soon as they become available.
Gay News.... Out...
Travelling east through the forest, They can hear a man moaning and sobbing in the distance. They investigate and find a farmer (Alan Horesenshade) weeping next to his horse and ox. He explains to the group that all of his animals have mysteriously been going blind lately. If this keeps up he won't be able to plow his fields before winter. He mentions that there is a cave near by that the adventurers might have a look at. They head over to the cave and find a locked door towards the back along with a bunch of very small doors up high. They find these strange half bat half snake creatures inside. They also find a dead Gnome woman who apparently has recently killed herself. She is surrounded by a large number of cages containing these bat snake creatures. They search her body and find some valuable items. Jin picks up one of the cages. Just then all of the other cages spring open. Prepare for combat. It is about to get bloody.
After the crowd disperses from the Gary execution, Vornyn & Murphy make their way downtown. Along the way they are greeted by a somewhat normal looking human who asks if he can work for the group. He introduces himself as Clyde and says he is great with horses and helping out around the camp. He says he has never been adventurering before and has lived his whole life in the city. He aspires to be a great map maker and was looking to find the right group to journey with and take him beyond the city walls. To prove his worth, they ask him to shoot his bow and cut through a rope holding up a storefront canopy. He wildy misses and instead hits an elf walking down the street minding his own business. Murphy quickly runs over and heals the man and apologizes. (What a way to be introduced Sal T!). They all make nice and the elf, who's name is Jin also decides to join the group.
Clydes first major task is to get the groups horses and war wagon just beyond the city walls and wait for the rest of the group. In the meantime Murphy breaks free all of the animals from the city zoo and they all hightail it out of the city. It is safe to say that we will not be welcome back in the great city of Diamondbed.

Estia (Human witches daughter)Gary was previously told that he should flee the city by his parents. He instead insists on confronting them again to find out why he was really banished. When he returns to his family home, he finds his dad chopping wood out front. After a somewhat heated discussion, his father explains how truly evil Gary is. He speaks of rape, torture, & murder of young children. He also explains that he got him exiled to Hilltown to save Gary's life. Returning to Diamond bed City, will surely end with his incarceration or worse. Gary gets angrier and goes incorporeal. When he materializes he has his hand in his fathers chest and crushes his heart. His mother, seeing the carnage from the front door, blows the whistle and other bells in the distance start ringing. Before long there there is a massive amount of city guards surrounding him. He is to be "destroyed" as his sentence has been issued by the city council. His mother weeps as she throws eggs at him along the way to the City square. As Gary approaches the great hall, he approaches his mother as if to say something only to kill her the same way as his father. Gary is pierced by spears and lances and is then disintegrated by a group of elder mages. There is not even dust remaining. So long Gary and thanks for all of the fish.....
The group makes good time heading west. Around noon on the third day the group can hear some arguing up ahead. They find two Paladin's of Glamdrin (evil god) arguing about a dying horse. The two men (Gyle & Monty Blacklore) get into a heated fist fight and eventually the group intervenes and breaks it up. The horse is dying (internal bleeding) and needs to be put down. Murphy agrees to the task and changes into a wolf and takes the horses life quickly and naturally. The paladins are grateful and ask for the groups help in burying the lost steed. One of the large horses from the carriage bites his way free from his harness and nestles up to the paladin. Delvin gives the horse to the paladin as a sign of good faith. Sura proposes that the paladins should mate with her. They agree and each have a turn. They both pay her for her service.
The group heads closer towards Diamond bed city. They take a quick detour to check out a cave that the Paladins mentioned about symbols referring to this tall creature with a big head & eyes with a small mouth. The group investigates. Deep within the chamber they come to a large sarcophagus. Vornyn & Sura peek inside and then quickly shut the lid. They find more sacks of the teleportation powder in the chamber and use some if it to send this coffin back where it came from (to the corn fields).
The following few days go uneventful until the group sees a band of armored guards brandishing flags of the Diamond Bed city guard. Delvin's new black eyes warn him of someone scrying on their cart. Gary changes incorporeal and flees the vicinity. The group speaks to the guard and all is going well when all of a sudden the one guard starts going into hysterics and writes out a message. He hands it to Delvin as it appears to be letter made out to him....
The guards having not found Gary, say that they can go but that they know Gary is close and they will find him.
Almost to the city walls and the group is greeted by a sort of special forces unit flying down from air ships with two Wyvren riders circling overhead. They are escorted into town where they come to face to face with both Gary's parents. Apparently Gary was banished due to some disturbing behavior with under aged individuals as well as rape and murder charges. The city wanted him destroyed for his actions but Gary's folks wanted to spare his life so they got him as far away as they could.... Hilltown.
The group travels for about a day when suddenly they smell the most amazing pies being cooked in the distance. They arrive at a small outpost of several barns and an inn called "Delcolina's" ~ Specialty pies & Tack. Making friends with Delcolina, they manage to grab some of these delicious pies and some fresh blueberries. She asked if they could help her with a problem in one of her barns. The group agrees and heads over to check it out. Inside is a group of 6 large (monstrous) monkeys and several babies. They seem quite scared and dangerous. Through some speak with animal spells, they find that they escaped being captured by foreigners and now are in a land far too different from the jungles they come from. The group decides to send them to the alternate world they found using the sand teleportation magic they wield.
Not long after, the group of thieves they previously "slowed" catches up with them. The group quickly traps them with more entangle spells. One thief dies due to his injuries during battle. Vornyn calls upon Darkenday to give him a sign and a bolt lightning strikes one of the the thieves removing several fingers. They make the thieves get naked and move out, sparing their lives but taking all of their equipment.
Back on the trail towards Diamondbed city, they come to a cross road. There is a sign marking a path south to the fabled city of Evonmar (the only city on the planet to house a cathedral to every evil god). It is only a days travel south, not too far of a detour.........?
The group continues toward Diamond Bed City. A massive rainstorm brings the journey to a crawl. They come upon a steep slope in a valley and are ambushed. Delvin, for the umpteenth time takes another arrow to the neck and the group is surrounded by four Elven archers. Two get entangled by Muphy's spell. The others take hits from Panarus from afar. Eventually the group manages to overtake the thieves as Fyorn finally comes back with firewood after being gone for several days. He only brought back three pieces of wood. He also mentioned something about Spanish people from Spain.... but the group didn't understand his rumblings. Might have spent too much time out in the woods....
They keep one Elf alive for questioning and find that there are a dozen more of them not too far off. Elga the witch gives Black eyed Delvin a special potion to pour around their encampment that will "slow" them down. He uses it and then takes all of their available chests filled with money. The group moves on with Spanish still being the preferred language spoken in Spain.
Vornyn returns with firewood to find his companions badly injured from the skeleton fight. He makes quick work of their wounds with his healing spells. The group moves on deeper into the forest. They come upon a Dwarven soldier "Dunk" who is looking for a new war to fight. The army he previously served with in Gardon had been decimated, leaving him the lone survivor. He said he decided to travel far away from his grief and search out a new battle/ adventure to get his mind off things. He happily joins the group and they head out back on the trail after a nice lunch of dry rations. A few hours into their journey that day, they faintly hear an old woman crying in agony.
When the group approaches they find an old woman tied up to a tree with ten young human lads throwing stones at her while one prepares the grounds for a good old fashioned witch burning. As he lights the torch and is about to set the witch ablaze, Vornyn fires a single shot at the mans hand hitting perfectly, which forces him to drop the torch. Quickly the band of young misfits throw their remaining rocks and the battle is on! An entangle spell stops the misfits in their tracks. Then the new dwarven soldier "Dunk" casts a flame spell at one of the entangled men. The fire is intensified by all of the new bramble produced by the entangle spell. At this point Murphy casts an additional entangle spell which basically engulfs the men beyond retreat. The fire intensifies. Delvin, feeling that this is wrong, uses a jar containing a mud elemental in hopes to squash the flames. It works and stops the fire, covering everyone and everything in a grey mud. Gary unties the witch and moves her to safety. She explains that the local villagers would not accept her money to buy food for her sick daughter, so she stole some chickens. That forced the young misfits of the village into a rage and they came here to "Burn the Witch"!
The companions get her away from the entangled men and escort her back to her home. There they find a sickly teenage girl. It appears she is suffering from some type of poison. The Amonzoniean "Sura" uses her innate ability to neutralize poison with her own blood, saving the young girl. The witch is extremely grateful and offers up a gift to Delvin for his eye injury. It is a jet black glass eye. He puts it into his empty eye socket and immediately both of his eyes become the same pure black. It gives him the ability to see normally in both the day and night but it comes with a cost of looking quite sinister. The witch explains that he now can "steal" the pupils of others which will provide him with added powers if he sees fit to use it.
The companions invite the witch "Elga" and her daughter "Estia" to join them on their journey to Diamond bed city, stating that is no longer safe for them here. The angry mob of villagers will surely be back along with reinforcements anytime now. They agree and the entire group hits the road again as quickly as the horses can take them.

As the group heads into the forest, they come upon small half-dragon like creatures along with what must be its mother. After a long battle, the group kills the last of the them. Not far from where the battle took place, the group finds a rather large cave. Inside the cave they are troubled to learn that it was their now deceased friend Drake's lair. These creatures that they just killed must have been his offspring. The lair has various paintings depicting Drake's closest friends (the adventurers). They decide to bury the dead and seal up the lair.
On the road again, the group encounters a rather large woman. She stands over 8'-0" in height but appears to be human. She greats the group warmly and offers up some of her wheel of cheese. She introduces herself as Surajungala, "Sura" for short. The group sits with her and enjoys a leisurely lunch. Not long after the meal, the dogs start barking and something starts rustling the bushes close to the road. The group investigates and comes face to face with four skeletons in armor with long swords. A great battle ensues. Delvin makes a critical error while attacking and accidentally destroys his right eye. Bloodied and almost dead, the group barely survives the attack. The skeletons turn to dust when vanquished. Delvin salvages the armor and swords in hopes to gather funds to replace all of the potions he used during combat to keep the group alive. They move on further into the forest toward Diamond bed city.

The group makes their way back to Hilltown. They enjoy some time overseeing the construction of the new Wyrmwood tavern. Gertrude surprises Vornyn with a gift. She has purchased and installed brewery equipment in the basement. The group decides to try Vornyn's new brew which contains the teleporting powder they have gathered through the last adventure. After drinking the sweet beer, they are teleported to a strange far off cornfield. They know that they are far from home as the star constellations are all different and there are two suns that rise in the sky in the morning. After some calculations and interpretations, they unlock the secret of what the symbols in the dust are and can now use the powder efficiently for traveling. Once they solved the symbols, they quickly create the proper arrangement and are teleported back to the Wyrmwood inn.
Gertrude asks the group if they can use their fancy new fortified cart to head to the city to pick up more supplies for the almost finished inn and tavern. They agree and head north east towards the city. On the way, they encounter a knight of Surnoth. Just by chance, he turns out to be Gertrude'ss brother. They have an awkward conversation, but make friends none the less. They then encounter a tree-ant who is guarding an ancient tomb. After some exploration, they notice it looks to be of the same design as the one that blew the top of the mountain off. Instead of opening it they use the powder to send this sarcophagi directly into space, far away from their planet. The Tree-ant now having his mission of guarding the tomb completed decides to join the group and travel with them east. His name is Weatherlund.
The group gets their supplies in order in the city and have the day to explore the site while everything gets loaded. An assassin nearly kills Gary and the group heads out back towards Hilltown.
On the way, they encounter a strange light show that turns out to be a craft of some sort with three large "beings from another world".... They can't seem to communicate with them though. Panarus figures out that by playing certain sounds and music he can gather what they are trying to tell them. He determines that the planet is about to destroyed unless they can return and restore the 3 missing stones that didn't make their way into the coffin that blew the mountain apart. The group remembers that those stones had embedded themselves into wild life way back when they first discovered their origin. They decide to use their rings to go back in time to retrieve the gems as they enter into the woodland creatures. This proves to work perfectly. The coffin is brought back to the planet where they install the last three gems back into the coffin. They can hear screams from inside the coffin saying "hey guys, It's me Gary, help me out of here" before the coffin launches back into the sky. The "aliens" leave and the group decides to make their way to Diamond city to pay Gary's father a visit....
When morning comes, the mood could not be more sour as Drake has bled out and is most surely dead. The group searches around and finds some platinum tucked up in his scales as well as a few other select items. They begin to discuss what to do with the body when a band of Ogres arrive. These are the same Ogres that called Drake a friend and help the adventurers try and bury Drake as best they can. The question still remains, what type of dragon Drake was. He never fit into the Black or gold or red or blue category. The mystery dies with him I guess. Another strange encounter occurs withing Wyrmwood forest. They come upon a type of Mud elemental. After supplying him with a ceramic jar, he joins the adventurers as well as fully buries their friend Drake for them (earth moving type spells). A new Wyrmwood seedling is planted at his grave to mark the location.
The group uses the sand to teleport back to Surnthania to retrieve their cart and horses and decide to make the trek back home to Hilltown. The jounrney home is uneventful and somber can't describe the mood of the group as they virtually travel back in silence.
Back in Hilltown the new Inn & Tavern is almost complete. Gary gets a letter from his father in Diamond bed city. And Delvin heads out for another long ride with his great steed. On the journey, he encounters an almost mythical creature, a large Elk type beast who approaches Delvin non threatening. He then coughs up three inert crystals from the mountains and leaves.
The group has a celebratory meal with the Elven King & Queen of Surnoth. The following morning the High Cleric of Xeroxen teleports them into the mountains. He explains that something is preventing them from being sent directly to the crypt in the mountains. He gets them as close as he can.
The group arrives on the side of the mountain face in the deep cold. Gary suffers again from the cold and needs to be carried for a ways on the back of Panarus. They encounter strange lights ahead. It turns out to be the same floating crystals they encountered when entering the elven forest. Except this time they attack the group with some form of a magic missile.
They eventually make their way inside the mountain and down into the crypt thousands of feet below the peak. They encounter more of these flying crystals and battle more throughout their journey to the coffin they seek. Eventually they come upon a chamber filled with hundreds of these crystals. Fyorn finally uses the Fireball scroll he has been longing to use. The fire drops the crystals immediately to the ground rendering them "Innate". Gary tells the group that we need to take these crystals with us. After much debate, they agree to take them.
They eventually reach the crypt where they initially released the soul of the creature that has been plaguing Gary. He gets into the coffin and the group realizes that the crystals fit perfectly into small indents all of the coffin. They use all of the crystals they have on the coffin and they come back to life in vibrant colors. The casket starts to float. Gary floats out of the coffin unconscious and the coffin closes and starts floating down the hallway out of the crypt. The place begins to rumble and the group decides to get the hell out of there. They pick up Gary's limp body and make their way out to the surface. Once outside again they encounter their old friend Drake. He quickly whisks them up just as the top of the mountain explodes. Something is wrong with Drake though. He has one of those crystals embedded in his chest. He lands safely within the Wyrmwood forest but falls unconscious. The group watches as what looks like a comet flying out of the mountain heads into the heavens out of sight. When the morning sun rises, the crystal in Drakes chest is gone, but he has a large hole now and is bleeding pretty bad from it.
-Wetzel: I hope now that this "thing" is out him, maybe he will start to become more of a team player.
The following night, the group storms the tower of the Mapleton brothers. The diversion works as planned. The group teleports directly into the brothers chambers where they are caught completely off guard. The adventurers make quick work of the three brothers and the battle is over in seconds. The rest of the thieves guild members throughout the city realize the defeat and head into the shadows. The adventurers have won. The thieves guild rein over this Elven city has come to an end.
Being hidden in a large barn in an eleven city can be quite boring. But before long, the king and queen of Surthania come and pay the group a visit. They are excited to eradicate the thieves guild from their city. They speak with the high cleric of Xeroxen who entrusts onto them a few magical rings of "extreme" teleportation. The king is going to create a diversion where actors will play the role of the group and lure the guild into another assasination attempt. Meanwhile the real adventurers will use the rings and teleport directly to the three brothers (Mapletons) to seek their revenge and resolve this conflict once and for all!
On the road to Surthania they encounter a tinker gnome by the name of Edgar Sprocketfilch. He is quite an interesting fellow. The group asks if he would like to join the group as he would make a fine addition to the party. He agrees to come along, he says to call him "Sprock".
Delvin speaks with his horse and his horse asks if they could please go on an evening ride in the forest. Before long they are joined along the trail by 3 elven riders. They ride for hours through some of the most interesting trails Delvin has ever seen. By morning he is thouroughly exhausted and eventually meets back with his companions.
The next strange event they encounter is what appears to be some crystals falling from the sky. When they investigate it appears the crystal embedded itself into a squirrel and other wild life in the area. Somehow this can't be good. They head away from the encounter with more questions then answers.
The group crosses the river and makes their way towards the elven city of Surthania. Just before arriving, the group encounters the Elven riders that Delvin met the previous evening. They tell them that they will get them into the city safely and unseen so they can continue on their mission to stop the Petchaveck thieves guild and gain the element of surprise. They set the companions up in a large barn and the group rests and prepares for the next assault.
